Reopening comment system in WordPress is a bad experience
The reopening process is nightmare, really. It wasn’t usable discussion setting. Bad experience for WordPress users. Previously, for some weeks, I did a live test to check the usability of closed comment in WordPress blog.
To re-enable all comments open, users should refer to the discussion setting panel. Check Allow people to post comments on new articles
and uncheck Automatically close comments on articles older than [numeric] days
. But, it wasn’t that easy! For the all new posts after closing comments stated, users must have to re-allow post comment manually. Go to the "Posts" panel, hovering mouse to the post title, choose "Quick edit" menu, check "Allow comments", then remember to click the "Update" button. Do it per post manually!

Lebih baik,bila memang tidak mempunyai waktu membalas komentar, buat saja keterangan bahwa pemilik blog tidak mempunyai cukup waktu untuk membalas, sehingga pengkomentar pun tak merasa terbebani dengan penantian.

Yes, it could be mentioned in some forums and blog posts, but that discussion setting panel is still the same for the last several versions of WordPress since 2.+ until this 3.0.1. There should be some improvements.

Nah, ngerasa ribet sendiri kan akhirnya. Tapi saya sendiri cuma menggunakan opsi ‘uncheck allow comment’ untuk menutup satu per satu kolom komentar pada posting-posting lawas saya. Pernah juga saya nyoba pakai sarana Automatically close comments on articles older than [numeric] days. Tapi pengaruhnya kurang baik jika ingin membuka kembali form komentar pada salah satu posting lawas.

Mestinya pengaturan itu bisa terpusat di panel diskusi WordPress. Ternyata belum sampai saat ini.
Keterangan teks di opsi memang berlaku saat menutup komentar.
Selain , seharusnya ada juga pilihan .

Saya sudah tidak pakai wordpress, dan untuk fitur komentar menggunakan intense debate. :)
Jika lupa, saat menulis postingan maka tidak akan ada kolom komentar, karena memasang intensedebate menggunakan CMS -> CMSimple harus dilakukan manual setiap posting.
